down the red dirt road...

we just made it back from another fun family weekend in abilene. one of the best trips, since we were celebrating wyatt's (josh's cousin) safe return from his year-long deployment in afghanistan. we met at sarah and joe's on friday night for an italian feast, followed by the soldier's slide show and amazing footage of their "Explosive Ordinance Disposal" crew.

on saturday, we went to pick up the rocker we'd ordered for the baby's room and then headed to the big country for big willy's pig cookout. we went about 30 miles east of abilene and turned down the bumpiest 2 mile dirt road baby ya ya and i could possibly handle. will (josh's cousin and wyatt's bro) and several of his friends cooked for about 16 hours to feed 100+. it was a beautiful evening by the water, listening to music, enjoying the cowboy chuck wagon and hanging with the family.
