really easy recipe 101...

if i were to compare myself to any of the chefs on food network, it would most likely be sandra lee. not because i coordinate my kitchen, tablescape and outfit on a daily basis -- heck, i'm hardly getting out of my pajamas these days! it's because i'm queen of quick and easy semi-homemade recipes. we had cajun jambalaya last night, so i thought i'd share the recipe. don't tell josh, he thinks i'm a fabulous cook?!

1 package Lipton Dirty Rice
1 can diced tomatoes w/green peppers and onions
1 package of beef smoked sausage
1 pound of raw peeled shrimp

cook the rice according to package directions. cut the sausage into bite-size pieces. once the rice is done, add the tomatoes, shrimp and sausage to the pan. cover and simmer for another 15 minutes, stirring occassionally until the shrimp is fully cooked (it turns pink). serve with warm french bread and enjoy!!
