the real deal…

we wrapped drew’s second baseball season last night and what a season it was. there were a few kids and the same coaches from his 2011 RED DEVILS “wee ball” team (2 and 3 year olds). but this year, these green GATORS were playing “tee ball” (3 and 4 year old) and they were waaaaaay more physical and competitive.

what a difference a year makes.

the players get a snow cone after each game and one of my favorite pictures of the season (above/right) is of the three little boys (who are also school mates) enjoying their treats and chatting it up. I’d love to know what they were talking about? were they doing the post-game analysis? omg, hilarious. such little men.

half way through the season they switched off the tee to coach pitch. the parents were a little nervous, but everyone did surprisingly very well. we also learned from another team to line up the outfielders single file, so each kiddo had a opportunity to field the ball. otherwise, it was a running herd and massive dog pile to get the ball, which always ended with a least one in tears.

GREAT season and GREAT progress made by my REAL baseball player in his REAL uniform (or so he says).

and who am I to disagree?

scary (and exciting) to think this little miss will be ready for wee ball next year…
