the weekend weather forecast was triple digits (aka hot and miserable), so i was expecting we’d be cooped up indoors for the most part. but, we made the most of the heat and had a terrific saturday together…
Target time, CHECK! we were on the hunt for a splash pool for drew (and me!) and need some groceries, so i loaded up the boys and we went to target. mission accomplished: we found the perfect pool and some food for grillin’ later.
Nap time, CHECK! instead of nesting around the house while drew was napping, i actually laid down to enjoy my new book (which i’ll definitely blog about once i’m finished reading) and got to take a snoozer too…about an hour and a half was just what i needed.
Pool time, CHECK! there wasn’t much hot air left after josh finished blowing up this bad boy. drew wasn’t a fan of the slide, but the basketball goal was a hit. and thankfully we didn’t get pictures of all three of us sandwiched in the pool, but it was soooo refreshing and fun to watch the little guy splash around. note to self: must get a real pool in our next house!!
Grill time, CHECK! josh had been marinating chicken all day, which he (with drew supervising) grilled with fresh pineapple and squash/zucchini…yummy!!
Quality time, CHECK! our days of just the three of us are slowly dwindling, which invokes a wide range of emotions. and with josh in albany for the most part of last week, i was certainly looking forward to spending time with my boys…not much more this lucky wife and proud mommy could have asked for!

that is so fun, wish I could have seen all of you in the pool at the same time. It was a great way to keep cool. Wish you were splashing around with us again.
