we checked into the hospital a week ago today at 5:30am for a scheduled induction (at 39 weeks, 2 days) and baby Reese Kennedy Yarger made her grand entrance just four hours later.

much to our surprise she is/was TEENY TINY weighing in at a mere 6 pounds, 11 ounces.

while she’s only two-thirds the size of drew at his birth weight of 9 pounds, 9 ounces, she looks JUST like him. same hair, expressions and big ol’ hands and feet.

and all in one week…

  • we came home from the hospital happy and healthy just 28 hours after delivery.
  • she’s been eating like a champ and sleeping pretty good.
  • she’s made a few puppy-like squeal sounds, but we have yet to hear her cry. fine by me.
  • she’s pretty shy (light-sensitive) with those blue eyes, but we’re getting to see them more often.
  • mommy is feeling well, although engorgement is supremely overrated.
  • daddy is smitten and already stressed about another girly girl. he’s back at work, but we sure enjoyed having him home for a few days.
  • drew and callie are in love with their “baby reese”, always giving her kisses and rubbing her back.
  • grandparents are extraordinarily grand. they’ve been keeping things functioning around our house, running day care duty, making EVERY meal and entertaining the kiddos. beyond grateful.
  • auntie erin made a surprise visit to get a few reesey snuggles.
  • we’ve had one shopping outing to target where she drew lots of oohs and aahs.
  • her first Brown family dinner to celebrate the moschella’s return to abilene.
  • this precious girl has made an everlasting imprint on my heart that only a mommy can know.

I love you RKY.

(and I promise we will stop calling you Callie).

xoxox.

I can remember looking thru the nursery glass and seeing you for the very first time. My heart was so happy. We have loved you from the first time we saw you. Now you are all grown and are the most fabulous Mother. Your children are blessed to have such a loving Mommy and Daddy...and grandparents.
We love you all,
Aunt D & Uncle Tom
