another good night sleep and drew was finally ready to eat some breakfast on sunday morning (biscuits, of course) and enjoyed his basket of goodies from the Easter bunny –a new animal puzzle, thomas train car, elmo toothbrush, tug boats for the bathtub, plastic stacking cups, 2 rubber duckies and a book.
aunt D prepared an egg-cellent Easter meal (ham, scalloped potatoes, asparagus, carrots, salad and homemade strawberry shortcake). she, tom and dave even loaded it all up and brought it to our house, so we could enjoy our new/improved backyard.
although drew missed the (practice round) egg hunt at school on friday, he turned out to be a pro. and so much for the plan ol’ colored eggs we had growing up - he had eggs in the shape of farm animals, sports balls and race cars. kids these days… ;)
it certainly wasn’t how we envisioned the holiday weekend, but it turned out to be a few relaxing days with beautiful weather and special memories.
and i couldn’t be more happy to report that both of the boys are feeling MUCH better!
