amidst the chaos of packing, moving, renting, unpacking and maternity leave, we managed to pull together our new house in abilene (with LOTS of help from tammy, bret, molly and chris) just in time to celebrate drew turning TWO with a thomas the tank engine birthday party!
when he woke up from nap that afternoon, the house was decorated inside and outside with trains galore.
even aunt D and uncle tom drove from keller to see “the monkey boy” and brought a fabulous surprise with them -- mema!!
while he was super excited about his new trains, books, jerseys, bowling set, piggy bank and more -- telling daddy to “open, open” after each one -- the hit of the day had to be the little tikes get out n’ grill barbeque set (courtesy of mimi and pepaw).
he spent at least three hours that afternoon cooking hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone. we had to move the canopy around the backyard, so his little red cheeks could stay in the shade.
and the big hit of the next day was his fisher price batting machine(courtesy of sarge). by the end of the day, he’d hit the ball, toss the bat and run thru the yard to shag his own ball.
to my sweet lil’ drew – i love you thru and thru…yesterday, today and tomorrow too!
