falling in love…

sharing some of my must haves to celebrate the first day of fall!

 

happy little list taker: this handmade notepad cover from knitty bitties is my attempt at post-baby reorganization. it is the perfect size to fit in my handbag, has an interior pocket and button loop closure, and ships with the small legal pad and pen! she makes adorable totes, ebook and iPad covers, wallets and notebook sleeves.

 

DSLR camera: i’ve been so distraught about losing the battery charger for my SLR camera in our relocation. i’ve searched every box three times over, finally ordered a replacement and am soooo excited to have my camera back! it’s amazing how much better the pictures are compared to my point-n-shoot. i also just ordered one of these adorable and stylish strap covers, also from knitty bitties. btw – sony just introduced the NEX camera that has SLR camera performance/quality in a compact design…check it out!

 

layton quilt: i’d been day dreaming about a KING sleigh bed for quite some time, but hadn’t really thought about outfitting it with new bedding. i had no inspiration for our room and then found myself pretty discouraged after seeing the prices for king size sheets and duvets…ouch! i searched high, low, near and far, and then fell in love with this neutral collection at the company store, and basically ordered the whole room. i’m still amazed and proud of my fab find -- a king quilt (great quality and the perfect weight) for less than $75!

 

visitors guide to the human race: the most trusted newscaster in america has just released a new book. i can’t wait to get a copy, as i’m certain it will elicit the same belly-roll laughter of the daily show. anyone planning to attend The Rally in october?

 

mickey D’s sweet tea: the fresh brew of mcallister’s deli is some 200 miles away from my new home, so i’ve been forced to find a new dealer. chick-fil-a is mister reliable, but you can’t beat the large cup o’ sugar for a buck at the golden arches…and it’s perfect placed just down the street from drew’s day care. however, it’s highly unlikely that i’ll be ordering their french fries anytime soon!

 

 

chunky knits: while i don’t have to dress for the office everyday anymore, i am looking forward to packing up the maternity clothes asap. i don’t think the oh-so-tight legging jeans are for me and i’ll leave the faux fur vest to my favorite fashionistas (erin, sarah beth and rachael zoe). but, i will definitely embrace this comfy sweater cape for those cool fall evenings. and $20 at old navy totally works for me!

 

baubles: so, i’ll wrap around and up this list with new mommy baubles. when drew was born, i found a beautiful sapphire and diamond ring that i still wear every day. but since the arrival of my pretty pretty princess, i’ve been searching for something new and beautiful. i haven’t decided exactly what to get, but i LOVE these initial stamp pendants from the vintage peal.
