today is my last day of maternity leave with miss callie jane and i’m filled with all sorts of emotions. our bonding time together has been so special, but seemingly short. we’ve laughed, cried and cooed together to my heart’s content.
it’s still hard to believe she is almost three months and such a wonderful complement to our growing family. she’s a great sleeper, and for that some sanity has been restored. she’s trying to talk all the time and is a bit temperamental (well, she IS a girl!).
lately she’s been having what i used to refer to as my infamous “don’t touch me” moments. her body goes stiff as a board, she doesn’t want to be held and only wants to be left alone in her swing. it’s really funny to see the physical and emotional traits they inherit from mom and dad!
i feel so blessed to have two beautiful and healthy children. what more could i ask for?
well glad i asked, i’m most excited because we’ve hired a darling gal to keep care of callie girl in our home, where i’ll be working. i’m so lucky to have the best of both worlds. josh’s commute has gone from two and a half hours to 35 minutes, my commute has gone from 45 minutes to 12 steps, i get to do what i love from the comforts of my cute study AND spend my lunch hour with the little miss.
my workspace is a work in progress, but here is the blank canvas…
i LOVE the window, the chair is bulky but comfy and the couch is still growing on me. it wouldn’t fit upstairs, so it has landed in here by default.
my new IKEA desk is currently cluttered with a bottle, water in a mi chula’s cup (oh, how i miss my dfw restaurants), a Halloween magazine, two calendars, one notebook, a red solo cup full of pens (classy), thank you cards (which i’m soooo behind on), one working mouse that we are sharing between both computers and a stack of invoices from the hospital.
did i mention how excited (and lucky) i am to get back on the payroll??!!

very fun stuff, can wait to see miss CJ again. Sony is the lucky one, they have one fantastic, energetic, crazed, fanatical, over achieving Marketing guru back on the payroll. Enjoy your new lifestyle you and josh deserve it.
i hope the end of maternity leave transition goes smoothly!
my sister said she only got to be in drew's class a little while but he was definitely the star student! soo sweet, and obedient.
both of your kiddos are ridiculously cute!
