a weekend working the railroad.
no crossing. what a perfect weekend to dismantle the main street bridge to downtown grapevine. traffic was atrocious, but we made our 11:15am departure with just a few minutes to spare. bret and tammy were literally the last to board. and no such luck for matt and erin, which I’m sure they were super disappointed about.
drew and friends. mommy, daddy, baby sister, five grandparents, one auntie and soon-to-be uncle, and one great aunt and great uncle. in a sea of screaming kids and obnoxious parents with cameras (guilty!), the bear was pretty excited to have so many familiar faces around.
coal for the soul. if there is one material thing we miss about the metro, it would be the restaurants. so visiting some of our favorites is always a priority. margaritas and enchiladas at mi chulas, check! sundae rolls and sushi at blue fish, check! fish tacos and salsa verde at tin star, check!
weather derailed. saturday was absolutely the most gorgeous spring day. but whatever blew in that night and lingered around on sunday most resembled fall… overcast, drizzle and COLD! even this weather guru hadn’t packed appropriately for the weather conditions.
ink and blink. sadly, the weekend was over in the blink of eye. but the pictures we have of some rough-n-tough tattooed fellows will live on forever. hilarious!!

p.s. josh and erica, you guys are the coolest and best parents ever. i love what you are trying to teach your kids; my grandchildren. i love seeing that you are doing a better job than i did.
p.s.s. i will try to undermine your efforts, as, every grandfather should.
What a blast! So fun seeing Opa, Josh, Bret, and Drew sporting their Thomas tattoo. Thanks for including us for a priceless afternoon.:)
