backyard of the year...

for the holiday weekend, josh and i left friday night for Houston to visit mom and bret. we had nothing on the agenda and were determined to keep it that way. we lounged by the pool all day saturday and then josh grilled for us -- chicken and bratwurst (his signature dish). of course, my evening was capped with mom's brownies and a big glass of milk (my craving of the week). yummy!!

on sunday we had breakfast poolside and then ran a few errands. immediately upon our return it was back into the pool, followed by another excellent meal courtesy of my steak boy. we had filets, baked potatoes and grilled squash/zucchini.

to prepare for our long drive home on monday, we took another quick dip in the pool and then headed out to lunch. great company, excellent food, beautiful backyard -- an all around wonderful weekend!!
