last week we missed joe’s final B1 flight at dyess and the moschella farewell family dinner at perini’s. so, we were thrilled when megan called about meeting sarah and joe for lunch on saturday, as they made their journey across the south.
we decided to meet at love shack, which is tim love’s very casual hamburger joint in the fort worth stockyards. thankfully, we’d had that cold front and temps were only in the mid-90s, because all of the seating is outdoors.
joe and sarah managed to grab the best table in the house + a high chair, upstairs and under the misters. it was THE place to be, so the service was a little slow. but the live music and ambience were great, the company was delightful and the food was amazing (as you would expect from mr. love). ooh, those fresh cut, crispy french fries!!
sarah and joe’s love shack for the next year (while he’s in some super military training school) will be in montgomery, alabama. they’ve only seen two pictures of their new house, so we are anxious to hear all about it. wishing you all the best, and hope to see you very soon!!
btw – tim love’s true gem of the stockyards (just around the corner from love shack) is his “western bistro” upscale cowboy steakhouse, lonesome dove. it holds my vote for best restaurant in DFW!
