to the big country!
as much as i hate to fly, i’m fascinated with airplanes, so we’d had the dyess AFB big country airfest marked on the calendar for over six months. i’d been in chicago all week, returning on thursday evening, but unpacked and repacked for a fun weekend with the boys in abilene!
good news -- it was perfect weather all weekend, cool temperatures and high clouds. bad news -- it was probably the worst traffic abilene has seen in years and we didn’t even make it “into the show” to the see the static display of military aircraft.
so we just setup our chairs in the parking lot to watch the B1 bomber and f-16 thunderbird performances. drew was hilarious, yelling, “whoooaaahh” when the planes flew by and covering his ears when it got too loud.
and we just returned from ANOTHER fun weekend in san antonio, so i have more to blogging to do. i suppose we are trying to get in all of our travels before i’m grounded to the house for a few months…about 10 weeks until the little miss arrives!
