i heart…

here is where i have been lately and why i love you so!

love, love, love your selection of organic produce. seems like we can’t get enough blackberries, blueberries, pineapple, cantaloupe and watermelon. oh, have you tried the carrot chips? my super picky toddler will even eat them! and i must mention that shrimp, feta and orzo salad at the deli counter…it is AMAZING!

i created a photo book for drew’s first year, ordered one for all of the grandparents and then had our family and friends sign my copy of the book at his birthday party. i don’t have the patience or time for scrapbooking, so this makes a perfect momento! i’m working on volume two for drew’s 2nd birthday and hope to continue the tradition with callie.

i had been taking drew to cool cuts for kids…until they gave him a not-so-cool cut. his hair had basically grown to one length all around and i just wanted the gal to trim the front and around his ears. well, we walked out of there and you could see all these scissor marks in the back where she wasn’t even suppose to cut?! so, josh and drew got their hair cut today at sports clips and it looks great. go figure…it was cheaper and he was more captivated watching sportcenter anyway!

this may come as no surprise, since drew and i have had weekly date nights here. the chicago club (turkey, provolone, spinach, roma tomato and smoked red pepper-cilantro aioli on herb foccacia) with a side of fruit is my FAVORITE, and i always sneak a side of cottage cheese from the salad bar.

we just briefly talked about cord blood banking when i was pregnant with drew, but didn’t go through with it. after a lot of research this go ‘round, we’ve decided to save callie’s. while the upfront costs are expensive, my OB said it best…it’s basically an medical insurance policy that you hope you’ll never need.

one of my dear friend’s and her husband started a photography business this year. karen photographed drew in the spring, took our maternity/family pics last month and is anxiously awaiting callie’s arrival for our newborn photo shoot. she and greg are tremendously talented, a joy to work with and capture those priceless moments and beautiful memories. thank you!
