sweet baby jane…

has it been two weeks already…really?!

to my little princess -- here are just a few things i love about you yesterday, today and tomorrow too!

lovely locks – your long, dark and full head of hair is the perfect invitation for pretty bows and headbands galore. while it doesn’t lay very flat, it sure is adorable.

twinkle toes – those are daddy’s toes thru and thru!

independence – in the way she tried to crawl off the table in the nursery or kick the nurse when she attempted to prick her heel or trying to stand up when she’s burping or even trying to hold her own bottle, this little miss knows what she wants. she’s even started working those eyebrows.

miss piggy – we were a little concerned when it took a few days to really work up your appetite, but within a few days you were tanking 3 oz at every feeding. consequently, i was very surprised today when the doc said you’ve only gained 3 ounces over your birth weight.

pretty dresses – almost nothing i had bought beforehand fits your slim figure, so we’ve been loading up on the newborn sizes and diapers. and even though it’s still a little big, mimi and i found this madras dress ($7 at walmart!!) and couldn’t resist. girls clothes are sooo much cuter!

slumbering snuggle bug – like daddy, you’re a good sleeper and not much of a morning person. but day or night, your favorite place to sleep is on mommy’s shoulder and i’m certainly not complaining! big brother has also enjoyed a little snuggling.

precious noises – although very rare, the sounds of “callie girl” (daddy’s nickname du jour) are so precious. there is the sad whimper when you’ve dropped your pacifier or the irritated squeal when it’s time to eat. but the squeak of your hiccups (imagine a dog toy) is by far the sweetest.

blue eyes – you’re not so fond of bright lights, so we rarely get to those pretty blue eyes. we’ll get you some sunglasses very soon and in the meantime, i’ll let you borrow mine.
