joy to the world…

nothing compares to the smiles, coos and tears of joy in welcoming a new baby. even though it’s been almost two years (and i still cry every time i watch it), i wanted to share this beautiful video of my husband and proud papa coming out of the delivery room around 4:30pm on september 3, 2008 to announce the arrival of his 1st son, drew hudson, to our loving and supportive village.

i always wanted the gender to be a surprise when our children were born. for the plan-every-minute-of-every-day type, it was certainly challenging to decorate the nursery and buy clothes, toys and gear in neutral reds, yellows and greens. but, it was also liberating to not have any control over our first little miracle.

because of some irregularities with our second pregnancy (which have thankfully been non-issues) and dozens of sonograms, we decided to found out the gender of our second little blessing. being able to buy tons of clothes and bows in PINK, baby gear in PINK and decorate the nursery in PINK has been a perfect distraction for this mommy and now it seems almost fitting to be prepared and ready for miss callie jane to make her grand entrance. tomorrow is the big day and i expect there will be plenty more tears, coos and smiles

special thanks to the videographer. what a wonderful memory…especially since i couldn’t be there ;)

I am so excited for you! So close to holding that squishy baby love - just so precious. Your story is so like ours. Not knowing with number 1 but finding out because of medical issues with number 2. It is just as exciting and we can't wait to see pictures of precious Callie.
