five for friday: good reads, or so I hope…

books

ironically, the kindle for ipad app has made reading more tangible and habitual. above and below are a few books I’ve been reading or have in the queue as soon as time permits (and my kiddos will allow).

real food. nina planck. “could single-handedly change the way we view “real food.” “a thoroughly researched rebuttal to dietary fads and a clarion call for the return to old-fashioned foods.”

the lovers dictionary: a novel. david levithan. “A sweet and touching modern love story, told through dictionary entries.”

rockabye: from wild to child. rebecca wolff. “lively memoir of a spontaneous young city-girl who becomes unexpectedly pregnant.”

everything happens for a reason. mira kirshenbaum. “There is significance in every event of our lives, from the most joyful and empowering to the inexplicable or seemingly unjust.”

apollo’s angels, a history of ballet. jennifer homans. “the evolution of technique, choreography, and performance in clean, clear prose, drawing readers into the intricacies of the art with vivid descriptions of dances and the artists who made them.”
